What would you do with a second chance at life?
From the age of 12, Matthew Caruana had struggled with feelings of worthlessness and a lack of purpose in the world. Falling into a deep depression, he attempted to take his own life at the age of just 16 in 2016.
He was left with 35 injuries, including a severed spinal cord.
Matt shares his story on #JordansSpace and how, following his suicide attempt, a chance encounter with a stranger and a meeting with his social worker pulled him toward the first steps in recovering his mental health.
Sharing his story was not only life-changing for Matt but has also helped countless others along the way. He now gives regular talks to schools and health professionals in Australia and internationally.
'I'm no longer worthless. Yes, I'm a paraplegic, but my greatest disability has been healed.'
