Jordans Space: Steve Phillip & the team talk with Debbie Rogers about the power of listening.
Men in floods of tears are walking in and saying "I've been looking for a place like this for years"
Despite dealing with her own grief, arranging a funeral for her brother, and dealing with a long and protracted inquest into his death by suicide in July 2019, within 6 months, Debbie Rogers created a physical place where men could come to get back on their feet and achieve a significant reduction in their symptoms of stress.
Debbie named this centre Sean's Place after her brother.
Now, with numerous awards, including the Enterprise Vision Awards Charity of the Year 2021, Sean's Place helps more than 150 men, at any one time, by providing them with a range of community activities and therapeutic support, including a hugely popular bereavement group for men.
If you've ever wanted to make a difference but weren't sure how or if you could find the resolve to do so, listen right to the end of our interview with Debbie.
